Rockland has no county-wide tree permit, and New York State regulates private tree removal only in freshwater wetlands and their 100-ft adjacent areas (DEC Article 24) and along protected streams. Other villages not listed (Upper Nyack, South Nyack, Piermont, Grand View, Airmont, Chestnut Ridge, Montebello, Wesley Hills, New Hempstead, Pomona, Sloatsburg, Hillburn, West Haverstraw) each have their own code; Upper Nyack and South Nyack both regulate private tree removal.

Many Rockland crews also work just over the line. We can usually match these areas too:

How it works

  1. Tell us about the job. Your town, what you need, and a photo if you have one. Takes about a minute.
  2. We match you with a local tree pro. An independent Rockland County tree care company that holds a Rockland County home improvement contractor license and carries liability insurance, and that actually serves your town.
  3. Get a free on-site quote. The company contacts you directly, looks at the tree and gives you a written price. No obligation, and you deal with them from there.

Rockland Tree Removal is a free referral service. We do not perform tree work, and we never charge homeowners.
